I live in France and get everything I need from my GP. BUT I am hoping to sell my house in France and move back to the UK. I am looking at maybe moving to the KENT ROMNEY Marsh or Pluckley/ areas.House (hunting on line at the moment). Does anyone know the area? Know if the Doc's in the area are difficult about prescibing things related to diabetes and kidney problems? Any advice would be welcome.

The prescribing of test strips in the UK is very variable. Some doctors will prescribe them and some will not. I have to buy my own and so do many other T2s.

If you are on insulin you might be able to get them. I would guess that any drugs you might need will be prescribed and you will be able to get an exemption certificate so you will not have to pay anything for them.

I would advise finding a doctor in the area you are moving to and to write and ask to be registered before you move. Then you will have a NHS doctor available as soon as you arrive.
