Has anyone gone private for better diabetes advice on getting longstanding elevated blood sugar into healthy range. I am fed up with lack of knowledge at my GP surgery and absence of any support to fight insulin resistance further because results are seen as 'good enough' just wondered if anyone has found private treatment any better

tagging @OrsonKartt who i know recently had private consultation. forum rules prevent naming private consultants.

a couple of other posts which should be somewhat relevant:

for your other question on insulin resistance, exercise should assist somewhat in helping the muscles use glucose a little more effeciantly. try a walk before dinner and afterwards. that has helped to flatten spikes a little bit for me. personally found swimming pretty much straight after breakfast will helps immensly to reduce sugar levels.

Our surgery has 3 diabetes nurses. They know everything you need to know about diabetes. Our GP is also very knowledgeable. If it’s possible, you could find another surgery

Thank you for your responses. Sadly its a long time since I've encountered a diabetes nurse who is anything like up to date with diabetes research and they have generally been too accepting of levels that contribute to increasing insulin resistance. I can't get into see anyone in person at my surgery and they are only interested in seeing people who are really unwell right this minute. They don't have time for prevenrative or restorative health care.

I was lucky but it should be a natural progression of healthcare to be seen by an endocrinologist.
My GP at the time referred me to my specialist endocrinologist, because my GP couldn't understand why I was going hypo and I was eventually found to be misdiagnosed with T2.
My specialist endocrinologist arranged all the tests and gave me the knowledge, why, the science and how to approach my condition. And told me about this site.
You can get good specialists.
But if you are desperate and your doctors won't refer, and you can afford it.......?
Why not?
