Hi everyone, my baby (6 MO) has T1D and recently we had some troubles with constant highs (10+) over 2-3 days.. We were changing the i-set every 12 hrs. We have noticed that after removing the inf.set some drop would be on the top of injection site (like instead of blood, drop of smelly insulin would appear) Also, we realized that once we pressed the (hardened) skin where the needle was a bit of insulin dripped out. Now we do not know how much of insulin is being absorbed and out son is having a hard time because of that......:( We keep blousing sometimes 2-3 times more often to get some effect. It is really scary. Our doc says we should change the site, which we do, but every 12 hrs? Is that normal? Also parts of his skin are now a bit damaged/inflamed/red...

Has anyone some ideas or suggestions?

6 MO, 7 kg, 68 cm, T1D and using MiniMed 640g + cgm, infusion set sure-t 6 mm.

Hi @DanisV - I'm very surprised that for a small child you are using the steel sets. Have you spoken to your doc about using the teflon soft sets? (Mios or Quicksets)

indeed we have, and we were told this is for the babies.
