Problematic Levemir

Ive was changed onto levemir from lantus 2 years ago as my doctor thought it would be better for my random lifestyle. It started well but a few months ago i started getting big red lumps at my levemir injections sites. My diabetic nurse had never seen it before and said if i could put up with it don't worry about it. Now it seems my blood sugar levels are all over the place and I'm thinking it may well be down to the absorption of my levemir. Im getting unexpected highs and I'm having to increase my novorapid for unknown reasons. Im thinking of changing back to lantus. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not had that. Did an injection once and did not go deep enough at injection site. Cause im lean had to inject at an angle before eventually having 4mm needles. By not going deep enough into fat causes the insulin to be sat under the skin causing a raised lump with erratic absorbtion rates.

I changed from Lantus to Levemir this summer for about 3 months. I didn't have any problems with my levels but I did get the lumps where I had injected. They weren't particularly red, but obviously some kind of reaction as they stayed for several days and were much larger than the volume of insulin injected. Now I have gone back to Lantus and I'm not getting any lumps.
