Hello

New user here. I have a problem at work that I need some help with.

I have been diabetic for 35 years. Last September I unfortunately took a hypo whilst driving. My company has not provided any support apart from providing someone to pick me up and drop me home. I have received a letter suggesting my performance at work is poor and if I do not improve immediately I will be subject to formal disciplinary.

My question is, could the incident have affected my performance at work in the last 6 months? I have accepted that some things I should have done better but some things are mountains out of molehills.

Under the equality act 2010 I understand the company should take consideration in this and possibly asked if I was ok as me performance has dropped rather than a heavy handed letter.

Thanks

Scott

Welcome to the forum.

I am not sure about your question. Are you a professional driver? Did you deal with hypo by yourself?

So difficult to comment on these matters Scott as we don't know the facts to hand, if you have a grievance with what was said in the letter then take it up with your Trade Union or ask to speak with someone from the Citizens Advice Bureau.

I will be taking this to a grievance however I was just wondering if there was a possibility that I may have suffered some issues following the hypo. Could it be stress ? Could the hypo be brought on by something else? (Doubtful I know) should the company have supported me following the incident?

@swc1975, just take your grievance up with your employer and see how you get on, as said its extremely difficult to comment on such matters without knowing all the facts.
