Hi all,
Hopefully someone on here might have gone through something similar, or be able to offer some help?
So, I've been diabetic since 1993, on various insulin regimes (currently on Humalog and Tresiba) with average blood glucose control (I wish i could get it more stable, help on this also appreciated!) For the last 4 years (since a messy split with my ex) I've been unable to achieve a normal orgasm. The effects of it are twofold: Firstly, the actual orgasm seems diminished, as if the muscles are not contracting fully to force semen out, which leads to the second problem of a completely dry ejaculation, which I'd say 7/10 times is completely dry, with the other times being purely seminal fluid, no traces of sperm.
I was referred to a Urologist, who has prescribed various medications: Pro-Banthine, Pseudoephedrine, Ephedrine and Imipramine, all without any success. I had tests for low testosterone, the first 2 came back with low readings, and the third came back normal, so they decided not to go that route.
I can achieve and maintain an erection 95% of the time, though sometimes it isn't super hard, but enough for penetration, if that makes sense?
The Urologist seems to think it is retrograde ejaculation, but surely the various meds would have had some effect if it was? Doe anyone have any other suggestions on what to try? Could it be partly because there isn't a full erection sometimes that the medications aren't working, i.e would something like viagra and imipramine possibly work, barring drug-drug interactions obviously?
Also, the next logical step i guess, would be fertility treatment. Has anyone had any experience of this, and how did you fare?
About me:
30 years old
Type 1, insulin dependant (Humalog 1:1 ratio, Tresiba 16u @ night)
Epileptic (Tonic-Myoclonic): Epilim 700mg 2x daily
Underactive Thyroid: 200mcg levothyroxine daily
Last HbA1c: 69mmol/mol
Have diabetic Neuropathy in both feet to ankle height, can feel pressure etc on feet, but not fine touches (in foot test with filament)
Thank you all for your time and help with this
