Hi I have type 2 and on insulin I also have lupus which makes my white cell low sometimes as low as 1. Do i need to take any extra care with injecting and blood level testing .

@ianking I don't know too much about lupus. Is your low WCC due to lupus itself? Or due to the treatment of it, such as DMD's? Obviously there are a few different white cells, the usual one for reporting is the neutrophil count, which I think is around 1.8-7.7. A level of 1.0 is neutropenic, meaning you could be at risk of infection. So, advice must be for scrupulous attention to hand hygiene, and in all activities of daily living, not just diabetic related. Hope this helps.

Edit - range clarified
