Hey folks,

First post finally!
I have been type 1 diabetic for 7 years now, currently on the lantus and novorapid mix.
I am looking in to the world of pumps as I feel that could help my condition and control, although it isn't bad, it's not great!
I was wondering what the pros and cons are for use compared the the injection method?

Thanks :D

Hi,

Our daughter has a pump and has never looked back. The flexibility with eating anytime and anything(healthy of course most times :) has been life changing for her. Also it makes correcting easier. You can suspend, reduce or disconnect if necessary due to activities. You can increase as well if necessary due to illness.Sooo many positives, if for some reason you don't like it you can always go back to injections.

Hey Angela,

Thanks for the info. I will discuss it with my GP on my next appointment. I certainly don't see why I shouldn't go for it! Like you say, if it doesn't work out, I can just get back to injections.

Anymore for anymore?

Have been on a pump since December. The only downside is..............No sorry I can't think of any at the moment! Probably because things were really bad before and I was at the end of my tether. It takes a lot of hard work, but is well worth the effort. I certainly wouldn't give mine up.
