Why don't you have a good read around the Insulin Pump section of the forum, there's been quite a few threads lately discussing the pro's & con's of pumping insulin.
You might also want to have a look at the following, it explains what a insulin pump is and looks at the advantage & disadvantages of using a insulin pump:
