This is an apt presentation for me at the moment.

is there some way to shorten this very turgid jargon filled lecture for professionals into something a simple person like myself could understand?

Basically, that the Australian dietary guidelines re protein are wrong because the parameters are too wide and that they were based on young healthy men so no guidelines at all for women, children or the elderly.
He explains why too much protein is harmful and then goes on to say that in his opinion a figure of between 1g and 3g per LBM is optimal.

Not the clearest presentation I have ever seen, a tad hard to follow at times but one of only a very few that deals with protein in its entirety.

OK.
Protein.... for me isn't harmful. My kidneys are very very healthy.
Now this may be due to my thyroid health and that I'm a woman before menopause. After menopause women have same risks as men. Until then, less.
Proteins look after muscle and tendon health.
I lost weight mainly from my muscles on low carb medium/low fat. Alot of protein was eaten but if nuts, cheese or cream I didn't lose weight.
Chicken in abundance and eggs did the trick. It protected my muscles but I lost 4st but have readded some now on more carbs. (due to financial restraints)
