Hi, im a type 1 diabetic and was diagnosed at the age of 9 and im 26 now. Im on medication for my cholesterol as well as novorapid and levemir injections for my diabetes and was just wondering if anyone knew if I could have protien shakes etc for when I exercise? I work at holland & barrett so I know what everything im taking does but not sure if I can take anything with my condition. Is there anyone else who knows or can advise because I want to work out but struggling to get the benefits I want from it without having a bit of help from supplements. Thanks in advance.

Protein supplement are GRAS because it's nothing you couldn't find in your normal diet, and you can certainly find low carb protein powders if that's what you are after... Of course, if it will fix your problems is another matter (I suspect the problem is more unrealistic expectations or the workout itself than the lack of protein shakes)

Im only 8 and a half stone (female) and have two kids so have a bit of a baby belly that I want to shift. My stamina is the problem and also the build up of lactic acid when exercising. All I want is to tone up and to be able to work out for longer so I get more from it.
