Hi all,
Although I don't often write on here but I read all your discussions and really appreciate all your advise you give.
I was diagnosed type 2 on the 4th June with a shock HBA1c reading of 107.
I was straight away put on metformin and Jardiance and 6 weeks later had another blood test done and came down to 68.
I was then put on Trulicity which made me very poorly for 5 weeks but my DN wanted me to try to stick it out.
This week I got my result of 40!!! which was just over the 3 month mark. I was told it's a normal reading.
As I said, I've been following your advise on diet and cut out a huge amount of sugar and having about 80-100g of carbs a day.
I've got a phone conversation with my DN tomorrow but just would like your advise....
How long do I need to stay 40 and below to become non-diabetic?
Do you think I need to come off some of my medication? I think I want to stay on Trulicity for a while longer as I was so poorly on it that if I come off it and my BS go back up, I really don't think I can handle the horrid side effects for another 5 weeks. I also still have 2 stone to loose and apparently Trulicity helps with weight lose. I've already lost 2 stone 11lbs in 3 months but now only loosing 1-2lbs a week.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Look forward to hearing your wise words.
Well done on your HbA1c and weight reductions @Fairy09!How long do I need to stay 40 and below to become non-diabetic?

Thanks Emma,Fantastic to have gotten your readings down so much!! Love reading such positive results like this as only in my first week since diagnosis and this gives me massive hope! Well done you
Thank you Smallbrit,Those are brilliant results - well done!
I don't have any advice regarding meds. I'm sure you can see on this forum that there's a wide variety of people who've taken different routes in managing their diabetes with medication/diets/combinations of approaches - I hope you find one that works well for you - it does sound like you're working that out already!
