My daughter was diagnosed T1 just over 2 months ago.

Before diagnosis she had a few different hobbies, choir, cubs and majorettes etc.

She's been through a lot in the last couple of months including constant morning hypos and constantly feeling unwell but the one hobby she has stuck with is majorettes, to the point of she wanted to attend class on the day she was released from hospital!

Today brought an extremely proud parent moment. Today was majorettes competition day. 13 hours later and she walked away with a merit and 2 silver medals!!. To say she is completely shattered would be an understatement but she has loved every second of it!

Now time to rest up as we've got it all to do again in 2 weeks!

So so proud of you Ellie Mae X X X

Big hugs and well done salutes are in order here :):):):):)

the thank you's go to your daughter for living her life as normal:)
and you as her mum for making it happen

It's the one time that we get to see the 'old ellie'.

I spent most of the day worrying in case her bloods dropped and all she could care about was how quickly could she get in her next costume!

Congratulations and well done Ellie Mae, what a trooper and a little star :joyful: :)

Wow fantastic, well done Ellie Mae.

This weekend saw another 2 days of competition resulting in 1 merit, 1 bronze, 2 silver and a gold!!

All she could talk about in the car journey home was the next competitions in November, think we're going to have a busy year lol x
