Hi,
I have been a type 2 diabetic for 18 years and I have recently had a slipped disc which caused severe pain in my right buttock and thigh. Following strong pain killers and anti inflammotory medication the pain has now reduced but I still have soome pain in my lateral thigh and I have no patellar reflex. My leg also feels "tingly" to the touch rather than numb. Also in addition to the above in the last 6 weeks since the slipped disc occured I have lost 12 pound in weight without dieting. My right leg is also giving way beneath me every now and then and I have had at least 4 falls.

My question is that in view that the slipped disc pain has now eased but I am left with symptoms that reflect proximal neuropathy has anyone else had a slipped disc that has started proximal neuropathy. I have all the symptoms except that I can get up out of chair with ease.
Any feedback would be useful before I go back to see my doctor.
