Does anyone else have psoriasis? Any remedies for scaly patches? Struggling with the itching and getting flakier.

Psoriasis patches

I’ve had it for 45 years, sometimes worse than others. The first 2 years completely cover in it & spent 2 8 week spells in hospital for intensive treatment (not sure they still do that this was in the 80s)
I stopped all steroid creams as for me personally it made it worse. I use an oil & Seasalt scrub in the shower, at the moment I’m using one from rituals but there another one I use which is a similar price but a lot more for your money, Sanctuary Spa I think it’s called, I also use a thick moisturiser from a tub on my elbows after showering and in the evening before bed, they are the biggest patches I’ve got. I use Dove body wash I just use a normal scent free body moisturiser on the rest of my body. This keeps it supple & the scaliness at bay.
Some things I’ve discovered over the years and it may be coincidence but I used to have patches on the top of my feet and on my ankle bone, started using Body Shop peppermint foot moisturiser on my feet when I was diagnosed T2 after a few weeks the Psoriasis cleared up when nothing else had done it (I sometimes use this on my elbows too!)
I also have psoriatic arthritis in my knee joints and fingers. Not saying you should try this or recommending it at all but I use nurofen gel on my knees daily as prescribed by my GP, I have to or I wouldn’t be able to walk far at all, I had big patches on my knees and now they are completely clear. Could just be that they are getting moisturised from the gel or something else is at play? Not a great idea though as you can only use a pea size amount every 12 hours as even though it’s absorbed by the skin and not taken internally you can still over dose on the ibuprofen so not at all good to be slapping it all over your skin, and you can’t take any NSAID meds with it if you need pain killers for anything else.
