Psyllium Husks & Metformin

Anyone had any experience of Psyllium Husks?

Considering the great press they seem to receive how do the react wit other meds?

Good advice and not to be taken with other medication because it's supposed to affect absorption.

I've had psyllium husk while taking Metformin but I'd recommend checking with your pharmacist first.

I was on both prescribed by the hospital (fibrogel) I had no problems with them but stopped the fibrogel as I struggled to drink it. Have used the husk in baking very occasionally and had no problems - but as others say check with your pharmacist if you have any doubts

I know Psyllium Husk is a really good plant/remedy for the stomach, but as a person having to take levothyroxine every day ii can interfere very much with the uptake of medications and therefor I do not use it, I would guess it could interfere/hinder the uptake of many more kinds of medications... so at least have 4 hours between taken the one or the other ...

by the way Psyllium Husk taste great in orange juice with half water ... if one hate the taste...
