pump advice

Morning all
Has anyone who either has a pump or has a child who uses one any advice regarding insurance. Do you have to insure the pumps and if so where does this? Any advice would be great. My daughter is due to get her first pump in July

Most people add the pump insurance to their house insurance. I do. I think my t:slim pump is insured for £3000.
I have never claimed on the insurance. When the pump screen was cracked earlier this year, after it fell out of my pocket onto a quarry-tiled floor while sitting down, the pump was replaced by the pump supplier. I did not need to claim on insurance.
The hospital team will advise you, and tell you how much to insure the pump for.

When I got my pump (I was a teenager at the time) my hospital supplied me with a letter that said how much the pump was worth and then my parents added it to house insurance. I now pay for it myself separately for a small amount. I’ve never had to claim on it but it’s there incase something happens that isn’t covered by warranty like the pump being stolen etc.

I would get pump specific insurance as that will give fast replacement

Home insurance tends to have larger excesses and slower payouts
