Hi , Im just wondering has anyone lost weight (8lbs ) after going on pump , without trying ? Started on pump on 1 Dec and was 11 st 8 lbs . I havent made any changes re diet and or exercise. And im now 11st . If its normal , im delighted but it seems a lot for no effort. Thanks
Yes, I lost a few pounds when I started on the pump. I think it was because my insulin was more closely matched to my needs. Also, it reduced my hypos too
Thanks azure , was getting a bit concerned as I have always struggled with weight and have had to put in so much effort just to lose 1lb . Good to know its normal

Most people do lose weight when they pump, it's due to less hypos and the resulting treatment Obviously some do gain weight as take having a pump to mean stuffing face all the time because they can push a button instead of injecting
I think the reason why pumpers lose some weight when they first start is because less insulin is needed than using injections. I lost some weight even though I had some bolus free carb snacks to deal with mild hypos.
Yes, I've lost about 6kg in the year I've been on a pump. Initially, I put on weight because I reduced my hypers and stopped peeing out half of what I was eating. Then I learned how to cut bolus and basal for extra activity, which meant I could stop the usual 'extra carbs for exercise' strategy, and from there on it has been slow but steady weight loss.
