Morning all, just wondering if anyone knew what the criteria is concerning pump choice. I have heard that certain hospitals use a certain make of pump, if this is true do you have to go with the pump they offer you or have you got the right to the one you would prefer? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I must say I never thought to ask initially either, I was just so delighted at getting a pump at all! But 5 years on I'd probably be more inclined to do a bit more research on features, support etc. Support is an important point however - it's often useful to have a DSN who knows your pump almost as well as you do, and if you go for a pump they're not trained in the use of, that might be a disadvantage. I think the two popular brands currently are Medtronic (Paradigm Veo) and Roche (Accu-Chek Spirit), these are both offered by my PCT, but obviously there are several others around too.
