Hi Angela, Thanks for posting this, you've given me some faith back in the whole process. Not even sure who the PCT are but will google them soon as i've finished writing this. Won't go into my whole story - posted what was basically a big rant a few weeks ago (on another thread within the pump forum) and have had not a single reply!! Guess the brutally honest but negative approach really doesn't get you anywhere! In a nutshell, i've been T1 for 19yrs and have never had good control - few months back was diagnosed with proliferative retinopathy and so decided my time of messin about is over. Have asked for a pump & found the consultant whilst being very nice about it has done everything he can to talk me out of it. The worst thing is that where i live we don't even have access to being put on DAFNE course - again down to the costs! I've agreed to try the principles of carb-counting for 6 weeks and then he'll discuss things with me again. Course i'll still be asking for a pump but obviously i'm going to have to become a philadelphia lawyer in the process!! In my humble opinion i'm an obvious candidate but he doesn't agree.... Hope all goes well with you and your daughter and thanks again for your positive story..... :)
