Has anybody heard of a pump exchange programme where if you are unhappy with your current pump and you're not sure to change it for a couple of years then you can swap it with someone who is in the same situation and are willing to exchange their pump with you and see if you like the other one better. I currently use a t slim but am totally fed up with being told the bolus app will be available shortly but that's been over a year ago now. If I was told this at the start then I would never have chosen this pump and would have had the ypsomed pump instead. I think that I can't be the only person who feels like this and would be interested to hear other people's views.
What would you do if you found it worse than your current pump and wanted to swap back, but the person you'd 'swapped' with loved yours and didn't want to swap back?
Well I suppose I would have to keep it but that's the chance you take. I still think it's worth a gamble because at least you'll get to try a different pump
I’m doubtful it’s actually a thing as logistically it’d probably be a nightmare to set up especially with the differing costs in each pump and it’s consumables which is why lots of areas only allow you to choose from specific pumps. I have heard of people swapping their pumps early although I suspect it won’t be that easy to do so, the only way to find out though is by asking your diabetes team.

As well as the hassle of transferring warranty to a different CCG (or whatever they are called nowadays).
To be honest, I found 4 years went pretty quickly with my pumps even when they weren't perfect.
You may also find that hospitals/pump manufacturers are not happy with you having a second-hand pump, if anything goes wrong then they could end up in a lot of trouble
