I've just started my first pump after being on injections for 25 years. I have the Yspo mylife pump and started 10 days ago. I'm starting to get my head around the "trust" you need to have with these machines and starting to see the benefits in steadier bgs, higher % in target etc. However I'm having a lot of issues with the infusion sets. I've had 1 fall off within a couple of hours and 3 of the 5 or so I've used so far give me extremely painful twinges when I move in certain ways. Is this normal?! When I mentioned this to my practitioner I got the impression this shouldn't happen and definitely not as often as I'm experiencing. She said to change it if its painful but I feel like I'm just going to burn through all my supplies if I do this so I've just continued through the pain.

Is it just a case of wrong location? I've used stomach (both sides) and top of bum so far. I'm using the little contraption they provide to insert them, and currently using the steel orbit micro 2.0 but have just ordered some soft options in case this makes a difference. It doesn't hurt on insertion it seems to be the following day when the pain is most frequent. Maybe after sleeping on it?

Anyway just wondering if other people have had this and any tips to avoid this? It's making me really wary not to move too vigorously or wear clothes which could touch it too much and I don't want to live like that if i can help it haha

I found that if I’m either too close to my belly button or too far away I can get pain sometimes there is a soft of sweet spot for me

I also think in the early days the brain is not used to this new item ‘attacking’ the body so the brain ‘imagines’ pain…. And a few weeks in the brain is used to the new normal and ignores it

Hi Searley,

Do you get a twingy sort of pain - like hitting a nerve? This is what my practitioner thinks it is but I'm surprised it could happen this often?
