Hello,
Recently my Cannula has been ripping out of me a lot. I put it in right but it comes out when walking or doing activity. It is manly during hot weather. Has anyone got any idea's on how to keep it stuck on and does this happen to you?

Thanks

Hi Sarah
Try putting a plaster either over the cannula or just over the line close to the cannula. I have found that sometimes the sticky backing on the cannula is not very good or even so sticky that I have had to spray plaster remover on. Make sure the area is dry before inserting the new cannula.
hope this is a little help.

Is the tube tight or slack? If you have your pump a long way from the site, and no slack, try getting longer tubes?

Find a site that moves around less during activity, like the top of the buttock, love handles, small of the back, bicep.

Otherwise tape and sticky. And don't put a new set in just before a shower. Give it a few hours for the sticky to dry, particularly if you are going to do something sweaty after.

Basic thing to do is put a bit of tape across the tubing about an inch from the cannulas as this absorbs any pressure and takes the strain so to speak.
Invest in some skin Tac as well it takes a lot to remove a cannula once stuck down with that. :)

You could also get Mefix tape - it comes in rolls and I just cut a bit and put it over the cannula and some of the tubing.
