Hi all, just getting ready to head up to the hospital for my little girl to start her saline trial for her insulin pump, I'm so nervous incase she doesn't like the cannula, I think that a pump would be the best option for her as it will give her so much more freedom, fingers crossed all goes well

Hi @Diamummy_ glad it went ok. Myself and my 2yr old pump together seems like best option for us both. It can sometimes be a bit tricky with her but maninly better.

Thanks @1Sarah1 , My little one is 4 and she took so well to the injections and finger pricks I'm hoping she takes to this just as well

In a similar situation here! We're half way through week of saline trial with my 4 year old son who was diagnosed in March. He seems fine with having it on but we did our first canulla change last night and he got himself so worked up about it he was hysterically begging me not to change it. In the end had to be kind but no nonsense about it and he was ok a few mins later. I felt awful about it. These kids are amazing. how are you finding it now you've gone live? Jess x

Hiya, sorry I haven't been on the forum for a while, the saline trial went well, she cried for a bit when we were inserting the cannula but soon stopped, she is getting her pump on the 25th of July so she had the summer holidays to get used to it before going to primary school, kids are so adaptable, I don't think I would do as well if it was me in that situation, Nicky x
