There's no such thing as a diabetic pump. There is nothing that pumps diabetes.

There are insulin pumps.

And yes, an extremely important and basic characteristic of insulin pumps is safety.

What exactly is your concern with the safety of insulin pumps you have @Nathan Coe ?
 
I work on a power station and if I get a pump it needs to be intrinsically safe witch means it can't give of a spark
