Do you mean inject separately as well as pump? If so no, the pump uses fast acting insulin which it gives a low level all the time (basal) at meal times you have to tell the pump to give you more depending on amount of carbohydrate you are eating (bolus). You will have to change the pump which uses a needle to insert a plastic tube into you. Most people change the pump every 3 days. You would not need injections as you have them now unless there is an issue with the pump (can't remember the last time I had to do that, I usually just change site if there's a problem.)How do i get a pump my diabetes is out of control my nurse said i would still have to inject fast acting insulin even though pump administers it very confused.com
