I got weighed yesterday (week 4 of LCHF) and I have put on 2 lbs in the last week. I'm confused how this has happened as I have been eating pretty much the same since I started LCHF. The first week I lost 3 1/2lb second week put on 1/2lb, third week lost 2lb and now a 2lb gain. Is this usual when doing LCHF? I was expecting a loss of about 1lb a week. Also my BS have crept up slightly, for example, I have scrambled egg (2eggs) and rasher of bacon every day for breakfast and my readings were 2 hours after around 5.7, this last week my readings have been about 6.7, I also noticed that my readings on waking have risen too. I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday as I am frustrated as I am trying so hard to make this work and I'm beginning to doubt myself and think maybe I'm doing this wrong. My husband is very good and has tried to reassure me but my god sometimes it's such a struggle!!

For we women, there is always a question of our cycle? Our hormones can mean some fluid retention, which (as fluid is heavy) can mean a temporary weight gain.

Secondly, are you, well,....... regular? Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, and if you think you are, drink a bit more anyway. Being well hydrated just helps everything work better.

Put on weight
@Kellrob, this can be very frustrating, I am experiencing much the same thing, as far as my BGLs go. I am not so worried about the slow weight loss, but the after meals readings are definitely rising more than usual.
I am beginning to think that although I eat very low carb food, as you do, I may not be taking full notice of the calorie totals.
In fact, I am considering changing to the Newcastle Diet, as that seems to have a better metabolic outcome, providing that the pancreas' beta cells still have some life left in them.

@AndBreathe Mother Nature is due this week actually, so that may be the reason. I don't think I am drinking as much as I was on week one so as from yesterday I am trying to increase my water intake. @Merrylizard1314 i have started to track my foods on my fitness pal and have started my calorie intake at 1337, not sure if that's too much or not enough, my carbs 50g, protein 67g and fats 97g. So far I'm on track, keeping my fingers crossed.

Mother Nature is now well into my past, but when she visited regularly, my weight could vary by up to 7lbs towards the end of any cycle, so wait and see what happens over your cycle.

It would also be worth noting your cycle dates along with your blood scores as I know some women have reported their scores also have a little cycle, matching good old Mother Nature.

Isn't it great to be a woman?

Good luck with it all, and stick with it. My scores are in my signature. I didn't have masses of weight to shift, at the outset, and it was never my priority; preferring to focus on my blood scores, but I certainly trimmed right down, without much effort to be very slim indeed nowadays, and to have bloods consistently in the non-diabetic ranges.
