Is anyone else on here a fan of quark? For people who have no idea what I'm talking about and think I'm making bird noises, quark is a fat free, low carb, high protein creamy soft cheese/yogurt. In a whole 250g pot there is only around 9gs carbs and you can use it in so many different ways.

I personally like to mix it with flavoured protein powders to make a tasty dessert but you can use it for baking or for making proper desserts like cheesecakes etc. Loads of recipes online. You can find it in all the supermarkets in either the yogurt/cheese section or the healthy/be good to yourself etc. section.

Ooh I like the idea of adding protein powder to make a dessert. I use quark when I make a crust less quiche. Yummy

It's very big in Germany, where it comes in full/half or low fat. I used to enjoy it with chopped onion, herbs and a little garlic and served on baked potato (sigh!), or mixed with a tin of apricots or similar (all too high sugar for me now). You could mix it into a low sugar jelly and make an unbaked cheesecake or bake it with egg and sweetener for a baked cheesecake version.

We do the same - the Caramel Toffee flavours definitely make the best dessert.

I hadn't thought about Quark, mascarpone is my own current favourite. Thanks for the idea.
