Dear Sirs,
I am diaibetic (type 2) since 15 years; aged 65+years,I am not on Insulin ,but used to get good hypoglycemic control with oral medicines like
Metformin1gram SR, bid,Glimeperide 4mg od,Seethaglyptin 100mg od,Volibo .3mgod.
Recently my glucometer blood test shows KETONES and the sugar reading ranges to 300+dc.
Please advise.
No other symptoms,
I am basically from India, now on Holidays with my son at London.
Regards,
Looking forward for your early reply.

As Jack says, your glucose meter is prompting you to test for ketones because your glucose levels are very high (above 300mg/dl)
In the UK you can buy ketostix from a pharmacy. I would suggest that you buy some and test. If you have more than small amounts of ketones in your blood then you should seek medical advice . Also please keep testing if your glucose levels remain high.
