Is this diet okay for a diabetic?
Thank you.

@domke89 Welcome to the forum. The guys who have been tagged to help you are in USA and Canada so may not be about yet. You are not being ignored :)

Personally, I think that's a fantastic looking plan and kudos if you built it yourself. I wish I had that kind of knowledge when I was 16.

In regards to your question about if it's okay for a diabetic: I personally wouldn't be afraid to give that diet a try, but I'm also not afraid to give myself 10+ shots a day (I don't use a pump). On a broad level, I certainly don't see anything wrong or dangerous about that diet as long as you're carb counting and religious about taking your insulin, but I'm not a medical professional and I'm speaking only from personal experience.

Thank you for your answer! I built this diet myself, yes but some people said that my protein intake would be too high. Should I lower my protein intake or 170g is good? (P.S I don't use pump either)

Hey @domke89,

In general any diet you'd like should be fine with a diabetic IF you handle your carb counting and bolusing properly.

In terms of the actual diet it seems good to me, if anything it is a bit high in calories and carbs like you said, and you might find that that you bulk up pretty quickly, but a lot of it could end up being fat.

I am a big believer in a lean bulk, and I would probably start off a bit lower in the cals and carbs and see how that works, you can always add later on. If you start high you could find that after a month you've put on more fat then you'd want.

Other then that maybe head over to bodybuilding.com if you haven't already they are a very helpful forum for stuff like this, just don't get caught up in the bro-science, and supplement abuse lol

In addition to this diet, make sure you keep your BS in check as highs will hurt your gains, nutrient absorption, energy levels, and recovery times - Make sure you have good workout plan too, thats also key lol

EDIT - If this diet doesnt work - change it. Don't be stubborn or think that you can't deviate from what workout books, or whoever says. This will end up being a lot of needles, as Torq mentioned and that could get annoying, plus correction doses. I personally use more of an intermittent fasting approach - 2 meals, lunch(1300) and dinner (2100), and a pre workout snack, workout around (1800) followed by a protein shake pre-dinner, to help keep my sugars levels stable and avoid a million shots and corrections lol But I am not bulking, so take that as you will.

Cheers!

Thank you for your answer. I'll try to lower my carbs a little bit. Though I'm still a little confused about my protein intake, if it's too much I mean. Guess I'll search for some information about that. Thank you anyway.
