As a deprived pasta lover , I read about the cooking, cooling and then reheating pasta with great interest and am going to try it out . This is probably going to sound like a really stupid question, but when you come to reheat the pasta , do you put it back into boiling water before adding to a dish or add it straight to the dish to reheat ? Thanks in advance x

I wondered about this too. I figured that the best way would be to actually make the meal, e.g. spaghetti Bolognese and reheat in the microwave.

I read the article about reheated pasta but thought I'd just stick to what I do now, as I wouldn't know how much insulin I should take for reheated pasta. I'm lucky, pasta doesn't seem to raise my blood sugar more than other carbs (I use whole wheat pasta).

I've always thought it was better to be Type 1 because I have more control over my blood sugar (more so now I'm on the pump).

When we had left over spaghetti and marinara sauce, after dinner I made up a plate with the noodles and sauce which I then topped with freshly grated parmesan. I put the extra vegetables on a separate plate because I prefer to not reheat steamed vegetables. My husband and I would split it the next day for lunch. It heated quickly in the microwave, loosely covered with plastic wrap or a plate. The texture of the noodles was softer, but we liked it.

We eat spaghetti squash now. I replaced the marinara sauce with freshly made pesto. So good! :)

Once you have served what you want to eat put the pan with the rest of the pasta in it under the cold tap and leave it running until the pasta goes cold.

You can then put into a container and store the pasta in the fridge til you want it (up to a couple of days), to reheat it either cover and bing in the microwave, or put into a pan of boiling water until it is hot. Either way just make sure it is heated hot before you use it.

If you are reheating the sauce you can mix together and do both at once but just make sure they are both hot. Pasta will sometimes stick to a pan if it is not in liquid so it might be better to keep them separate.

If you want cold pasta it's ready to go from the point it is cold. Enjoy

No matter what I did, it still spiked me. :(

Now I go without or use that konjac noodle stuff. But I resent the expense!
