My pain is the bulging disc in my back having an operation eventually.....apparently menstuation makes it worse! If your periods are really painful I'd be asking for a laparoscopy to check that you don't have endometriosis - this is where the cells of the lining of the womb grow outside of the womb and can cause painful menstruation and backache. This can be treat with meds or laser treatment.
I can't go on the normal pill due to being at more risk of a stroke because my Mum died at 33 of oneI had terribly painful periods all my life. I don't know about a mini pill but I went on the pill and the pain stopped totally

I was on cerazette at first too! And It didnt agree with me! Yeah it stopped my periods but it made me so depressed etc!Hey Nicola, I take cerazette (sp?) not sure if that's a mini pill or not, but I had crippling periods and have family history of stroke and heart probs so was advised this was best one for me to take, I take it continuously rather than 3 weeks then stop for 1 week and have period. Works great for me, been on it 7 years never had any problems with it. Hope that helps xx
