Can you buy supplements like alpha lipoic acid and benfotiamine off the shelf in the pharmacy section of Walmart, or CVS ? I'm off there soon and will stock up if you can.

Quality varies so much between brands. I buy most of my vitamins from our local health food store and food co-op, where the quality is better. There you can often ask which brands are the highest quality. For Thorne Research supplements, I order through Amazon. :)
