Just a quick seperate question from other thread. Im going in for a kidney Biopsy and yes im a total wimp :lol:

Back in 2008 I had a colonoscopy done via Spire healthcare (bupa) private hospital and they used a sedative in the hand and I then dont remember any of it and just woken up in bed thinking woah that was easy. Now supposedly I was awake etc but so heavily sedated you dont feel anything and cant remember it. I want this same thing for my kidney biopsy.

Just wondering before I start phoning randoms will they have what drug was administerd on a file somewhere that all future doctors etc have or will I need to goto the source and phone the hospital and ask them to look it up. Once I know the drug and dose they gave me I can then ask the kidney ones to give me the same..

Told ya big wimp :D
 
I am with you all the way - so if you find out what it was make sure you post it on here so we all know!! :lol:
 
Sounds a great idea, yes please post it here for future reference when you find out!
I had a mole cut out of my neck recently under a local, horrible horrible experience don't want to go through it ever again!

If they have all your old notes it will be on your drug sheet when the colonoscopy was done. . You can ask for the same again and explain why but this new procedure may require something different.

Hi all

Explained to the Renal specialist and after a discussion about it he said it wont be a problem. Got a call yesterday to say its still going ahead on the 14th. That they spoken to my gp and a specialist. So a Radiographer will be doing it instead. Aswell as having nurses there etc. They are doing Full sedation with the same thing I had at bupa according to the specialist. So I shouldnt remember a thing :D

Next week will be scary busy. Monday is scan day. Tuesdays get all the bloods taken day and wedensday is thebig day of the biopsy.

So to all those out there you can ask for full sedation just be persistant. Will update my other thread with the updates aswell nearer the time.
