Hello there, my name is Catharina and I'm a high school student with a father who has Type 1. We have been given a project about diabetes and I would like to please do a survey. Here are my questions:

1.What is your race?
2. What is your age?
3. What is your gender
4. What type of diabetes do you have?
5. How old were you when you were diagnosed?
6. What was the cause?

Thank you very much for the help!

As there are no personal questions and nothing to identify the posters, this has been approved.

1.0 White British
2.0 52
3.0 female
4.0 T1
5.0 20
6.0 T1 so this means my beta cells no longer work. Nothing to my knowledge caused them to stop working. Diabetes runs in family. My Nan was type 2 and my uncle, her son a LADA. It seems to get younger diagnosis or beta cells wearing out quicker each generation.

Hope this helps...

Thank you so much! This helps a lot.

6. Had Gestational diabetes when pregnant with child who was born in 2013. Blood glucose remained higher than normal until April of this year, but GP never told me it was pre-diabetes. In fact, when asked specifically said that it wasn't! Diagnosed in April after continuing a diet too high in carbs, those recommended by the NHS.

Ps There may be a genetic link as my maternal Grandmother and Paternal grandfather both had type 2
