Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer

I've only got three days left, after the weekend, of radiotherapy for contained Prostate Cancer.

Prior to treatment, we have to drink and hold a fair quantity of water (diluted with cordial, to get it down) and I believe this is responsible for increasing my blood sugar to 15+.

Since this is relatively short term, I hope to get back to "normal" sugar levels, after Wednesday, but wonder if there's any long term harm?

Such have been the side effects of radiotherapy, that I have been comfort eating too and thought little of Diabetes Control!

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis and the treatment you are going through, but it sounds like you’re on the home stretch. I’m not surprised your blood sugars are elevated while dealing with the stress of the situation and comfort eating. However one little adjustment might help your sugars through out the last few treatments. How about using sugar free squash instead of cordial which I assume from your comments is sweetened with sugar? All the best for next week
