Raised BGs in a morning

Hi All

Im having some issues (again) with my morning readings. i am T1 (6years) and low carb (past 5 months) and since doing this i basically inject the same amount each day of novorapid and it works, BGS are around 4-7mmol. A few weeks ago i started to get raised BG in a morning 10-13mmol so decided to up my lantus to 28 units from 26units. This then for about 3 weeks had me waking up on 5-6mmol and i was very happy. However this week ive noticed my morning readings creeping up again to 12mmol. I have changed my lantus cartridge as i thought it might be "off" but still the same results. I inject in my leg for slower absorbtion.

The question is should I up lantus to 30units? and do you think my demand will continue to increase like this? i dont want to be on 50 units by the end of the year.

Currently I take 7-9 units morning rapid whether I eat or not (or 12-14units if i wake up on 12-13mmol)
7 units lunchtime
8 units teatime
28 units lantus @ 10.30pm

Any Ideas???

took 30 units Monday night at BS was 4mmol next morning. thought this was a bit low so took 29 units last night BS was at 13mmol!!!

grrrrrr i dont understand why its being so unstable. Tea was about 10gs of carbs last night and i took my usual rapid insulin dose. back up to 30 units of lantus tonight methinks
