Range

The normal range for fasting blood glucose is 4 to 7.

Thaks for your reply.
The range for my Libre 2 sensor was set at at 3.9 to 10 for the past year. That produced a time in range reading of 79% with 18% at 10.1-13.3 and 3% above 13.3 for the past three months. Below 3.9 was 0%.
Now the ACP has suggested the range should be 6 to 10. That produces TIR of 65% with 18% for 10.1 to 13.3, 3% above 13.3 and 14% at 3.9 to 5.9.
The thinking behind the change in target range was that, at my age, the risks associated wth hypos has increased (falling over is more dangerous for a 77 year old than a teenager was cited as an example).
I can see the logic in this but I have had very flakey advice from this person before; she said I should go on a high fat, low carb diet which was ridiculed by the Diabetes Specialist Nurse I talked to afterwards. The DSN was horrified and said there was no point in changing diet when my readings had been so good for years.
Does the new range of 6-10 mean relaxing the tight control? I am getting a bit confused!

Personally I would keep the CGM range in the default settings of 3.9 to 10. That is what diabetes doctors are most used to.
