Hi I am a long term sufferer of diabetes type 2, currently taking Metformin, pioglitazone and another tablet gylacide. My reading are all over the place and I cant seem to get it under control.
Last night at 10.30 it read 11.9 and at 2.15 am is was only 2.6 and I was severly affected, what is going wrong any clues please. Terry

Hi terry,

I'll bump your post up for replies.
I don't take medication so would not know of its effect or why your levels are swinging all over the place.
Have you recently added a new medication?

one of the side effects of pioglitazone is hypoglycemia. I would go and see you doctor as may be the dose needs adjusting or you need to change the times you are taking it. If the other one is gliclazide (can't find gylacide) that also has a similar effect.
