I was diagnosed with diabetes about a week ago - I was in hospital for a few days - at the time my vision was very bad. I was on injections for a few days but have since been switched to tablets. After being discharged from hospital my visiion improved. to the point where about a week ago I would have said it was perfect. However it is now deteriorating again rapidly, it started with close up objects but everything is now slightly blurred and I have to wear glasses in order to be able to read the computer screen a couple of feet away. This is obviously a bit worrying.

Any advice please.

Your vision can change when your bg does, I find I need my glasses when my bg is high, as you adjust to your new medication it should all settle down x

Are you finger prick testing your bloods Yunicawn? As Mrsass says, the vision can change as the blood sugar levels change; that can be upwards or downwards. It would be useful to reassure yourself your blood results are moving in the right direction. Very close to diagnosis, sometimes some foods affect us in a surprising way - good and bad.

If you don't test; have you considered it?

I'm testing twice a day before meals/meds and it's been reasonably steady between 6 and 7 for the last few days

My vision changed hugely over the first 3 weeks after I started treatment. It has improved a lot over the months before the diagnosis, then got really bad for a couple of weeks and then settled down and is now back to how it was 6 months ago before my symptoms started. I think this is quite common from what I have seen on the forums.
