Advice required please...
I am 65 and have been working hard to address my type 1D, and nearly every day for weeks now my BG is 4.5 -5.6. which I test several time a day/evening with AccuCheck and I am on a lchf diet and have lost some good weight around the middle about 7 kilos total.
I am 44"chest and 36 waist from 38.
However my recent Drs. blood test showed a 12hr fasting of 8.6. Trouble is I struggle with the dawn phenomenon. If I dont have breakfast, like the fasting test created, my BG goes up and up until I eat at say lunchtime. So now I always have breakfast, 2 fried eggs and loads of butter with spinach.
However I have been informed the 12hr fasting is unreliable as a marker for BG not only due to the dawn phenomena.
So my Dr. says I now have Diabetes 1, and he wants to put me on metformin and statins.....
He didnt however tell me what my LDL/HDL or Trig. were on my blood test so it doesnt give me any real markers as to where I am going. Seems not very informative.
I really want to resist this to see if I can improve myself, myself if you know what I mean..., does anyone have any objective advice here please?
