Hi Everyone,

I hope your all in good Spirits and feeling well? I have Type 2 and take 2 500grm Metaforim tablets a day, plus I'm trying to see if I can gain some control using a LCHF Diet. I'm not much of a cook so I find my meals are easy to prepare and very basic, but over the past 6 months or so I've lost 30 kilos. But the other day I was talking to an aquatenance and she told me that I should eat my meals around the same time everyday, as sometimes I'll have breakfast at 10am and other times at 6:30 am or anytime in between and similar with my other meal times, but I'm not a big eater so usually I eat when I'm hungry, not according to a clock. So can anyone advise me as to the validity of what this person has said in relation to eating at the same times eachday, please?
I wish I'd taken more notice while my partner use to cook, as it makes it hard not knowing how to cook a vaiety of meals, instead i just throw in what sounds like it'll taste okay, like last night. I mixed onions, mushrooms, chillies, garlic, wostershire sauce, and bar-ber-que sauce in a wok and fried it all up in olive oil and butter, to my surprise it was'nt to bad and my BGL's did'nt change, which was even better. Anyway I want to thank you all in advance for any assistance I receive, so take care and stay positive about your future, with this interuption to our lives,

Personally, I'd be going with your current system of eating when you're hungry. You could trawl the internet and find studies supporting just about every regime you can think of (some people eat once a day and swear by that; others eat 6 small meals and swear by that). No doubt people will continue to debate about it from now until doomsday. Go by what works for you and your needs.

Hi Stemar I find 6 small meals a day is working well for me and B glucose levels are going down nicely.Walking every day also.I try to always have homemade soup to.handwhich is a great filler upper.I eat when Im hungry also like u and dont go by the clock! :-)

If eating when your hungry and it's not affecting your numbers works for you then keep on doing it. I personally am completely the other way but that is more about my autistic son having a strict to the clock routine! I eat 3 times a day mostly at the same time - this works for me and I find that if I am late particularly with my breakfast and lunch my numbers go up, dinner not so much.

But I bet if I changed to your routine after an initial settling down period my body would get used to my new way of eating. Congrats on your weight loss and getting to grips with things, carry on the way you are it seems to be working fine!

The best way to eat is however suits you.

A steady breakfast is normally recommended, and less food at night.

I found if I didn't keep an eye on it, I didn't eat a lot in the day, then felt hungry in the evening, so forcing myself to eat in the day (normally) works for me.

If you are on LCHF, watch that bbq sauce, most are high sugar.

Hi Everyone,

I want to thank you all for your response to my recent request for assistance, about my eatting times. I understand that we are all different, so what works for one of us, it may not work for someone else. So I want to thank you all not only for your greatful responses, but also for the time and effort it took for your replies. Since I started this LCHF Diet I've not only managed to bring my weight down from 96 kilos, to 68 kilos, plus my numbers even though still higher than they should be (7.9 to 13.6) depending on what I eat, but they are a lot lower than prior to the my commencement of this diet, as they were (17.8 to 27.5) on a regular basis each day, so for this I'm extremely grateful, as I feel a lot better everyday. Now that we are over the cold of winter and into spring, I intend to start riding my bike each day, instead of watching it hang on the wall gathering dust, as it has for to many years now. So I'm looking forward to this and learning how to cook some easy meals, so I can have a better variety of meals. So I hope you all take care and remain positive about your future with this condition, as it can be controlled.

Hi SunnyExpat,

I only added enough for flavor to the stuff I'd put in the pan as I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but thanks for the info as I don't usually read the labels on things, this is another thing I have to start doing in future. It's so hard working out what you need buy that you can eat, especially with vegetables as they say anything that grows below ground, isn't any good for this type of diet, so it becomes hard knowing what one to eat or which one to leave alone. So I'm in the trial and error stage of this diet, so again thanks for your help with my original request for help, I wish you all the best for the future and take care okay.
