Reached a Plateau!

Oh dear! Looks like I've reached a plateau now. After a 3st 3lb loss, I'm not losing any more weight :(

With Christmas coming up, it's going to be hard. I will do my best. I'm now allergic to nuts after a 999 call out after eating a hazelnut. I've always been a bit funny with hazelnuts, but this episode was something else. Shame, I love nuts. My choices of food now have been decreased! I'm now having to go for food allergy tests, as I've had swollen lips in the past and never got to the bottom of what causes that.

For those that don't know, steroids make your blood glucose rise - quite a bit. I wasn't told about it and there was no warning on the leaflet that came with the pills. I'm also on beefy anti inflammatories for the next month.

I'm having a lot of homemade vegetable at the moment it's nutritious, nice and filling :).

I would like to thank everyone for your support so far. I know it's early, but I would also like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

You will continue to lose weight Kim...weight loss is not linear.
A 3 stone weight loss is superb and your body now needs less calories to move itself about, as you are so much lighter.

My advice (2 stone 2lb now lost in a couple of months) would be to increase your exercise regime a little and reduce your calorie intake too.

I wish you well.

Yes you are doing well @KimG . Don't worry about it, this is a marathon not a sprint. My weight loss has slowed down from the first three months. I put it down to getting a bit complacent after my 3 month retest, and I'm drinking more red wine most nights now, and not walking as much as I did for first 3 months.
I'm not going to stress about it. I might even start gaining weight in this Christmas season, but will work on weight loss and healthy eating more in the New Year. I might even join a gym!

I'm thinking of doing aquarobics in the New Year

Dr Jason Fung talks about the merits of fasting (let google be your friend). When my weight loss plateaued I tried it and it kicked things off again. Congratulations on your fantastic weight loss by the way.

Snap. My weight loss did the same after losing about 3st and a few pounds. I have started doing 24 hour fasts, in order to jump start it, as I would like to lose a further 8-10 pounds.

However I have noticed that I am feeling thinner recently even though the weight loss has stopped, and I have had to buy a new belt and also my 34" waist trousers now feel looser, so although the weight loss has stopped my body is still changing for the better.

I also have a theory, probably nonsense, but I was this weight (12st) for many years from my mid twenties until about forty, so I think that this maybe my bodies "preferred" weight. I also noticed that the other time my weight loss also stalled I was at a weight where I had been for a decade or so previously.

Thank you for that. I'll try the fasting. My clothes are starting to look rather big for me lol. I've got a few clothes that will do for now, and will buy some new ones next spring. My shape is changing too. I've still got loads to lose to get back to 10.5 stone. I'm doing it stone by stone. I'm not giving up. I might also cut down my carbs for a while.

Well done on all that weight loss!

You may find that the steroids are having an effect on the plateau, so don't give up - you may be losing still, 'underneath' the steroids. Does that make sense?

Sorry about the nuts.

Thank you Brunneria. I've just come off the steroids and my bg has come down quite a bit which is a relief. I'm having soup instead of lunch or dinner most days, I feel like I've lost weight, but he scales say not lol. I'm chilled.

I'm the same - my weight loss is down to about 1lb a week however I still seem to be losing inches so I've decided to go with it and take longer to reach my goal!
