Thank you for your message. I'm hoping I get some advice from someone that understands reactive hypoglycemia without diabetes , my consultant said it's rare, but I'm guessing I will find many people on here who can help. Or at least I'm hoping xxHi and welcome. I think some of the members will be along soon who can offer useful advice here. Really sorry I can't offer anything of use, but hope you get sorted out soon and start to feel better

Thank you and breathe. I'm really feeling I need as much support and advice as possible right now. I'm only 29, nearly 30 and I feel so rubbish all the time. I'm a member of slimming world and I tend to eat jacket potatoes and pasta as this is free food and now I don't have a clue what to eat as all I'm seeing is carbs will make me feel worse , thanx again for tagging someone who can hopefully help. Bless u xxxxxWelcome aboard, Shiv - I'm going to tag @Brunneria as she is an RH sufferer. I'm sure you will find her to be extremely informative.
You don't necessarily need slimming world. And eating spuds and pasta would have me really ill!Thank you and breathe. I'm really feeling I need as much support and advice as possible right now. It is a very rare condition!
My endocrinologist quotes single digit numbers in his and other health service areas.
Have you a endocrinologist?
Mine is very special to me!
I'm very special when I've been in for my appointments. I usually have a whole team in and loads of students! I had the test last year where I had to drink the glucose drink and then fast for 6 hours whilst they took my blood sugars every hour and my bloods. It turns out even after the glucose my blood sugars dropped way to low, then in May I had to go into hospital to fast for 72 hours. Even the nurses were asking me why I was there and what is reactive hypoglycemia! I couldn't believe it , I was on a diabetes ward. He tells me he is a diabetic consultant, which is confusing in itself as I don't have diabetes lol! Grrrrrr......It is a very rare condition!

I'll repeat my last post, but I did do the hospital fast (80 hours!)
Have had the OGTT, many times and do have to go again soon!
They don't know!
My endocrinologist is also a diabetic specialist. But he has a PhD in blood glucose condition of the pancreas and liver!
I was misdiagnosed as T2. And I'm still on the diabetic register, so I don't have to pay for my prescription, for my meds and my testing strips.
Have you a meter?[/QUOTE
I'm so happy for you both coming to my rescue. Thank youAh yes, i treated choc as a major food group for decades.
Do you want to know why it appeals to us so much?
The sugar in it feeds the low blood glucose, but the fat in it feeds The Hunger, making us feel satiated. But the problem is that it never lasts, so you always go backf or more...
Don't worry, you will get some real help here, and it has the potential to make a real difference to your life.
