Hello All
I hope all are well. I have been suffering from a tingling and a little pain sensation at my ankle since 5 months and I met a doctor during my trip (Jan 2014) to India. I also have had bronchitis problem during that time (could be due to the sudden climatic changes). After a couple of blood tests, doctor told me that I'm a border line diabetic (Impaired Glucose Tolerance) and the leg pain is due to the lack of Vitamin-D. I was really frustrated, annoyed with this sudden thing and deeply depressed initially being a human. But I started getting more awareness after going through a lots of online articles about Diabetes and started having great control over my diet, exercise and taking 500MG Metaformin. When I the OGTT done in Jan'2014, my fasting blood sugar levels are 110 and after 2 hours 163.
I reported my case to the doctor in GP (UK) and he told me not to worry and its just a 'impaired' case and surprised to see why the previous doctor in India suggested me to take Metaformin. However, the doctor made a note and routed me to a nurse who is going to do blood tests, perhaps HBA1C, in next month.
Today I have conducted OGTT at my home by taking 75g of Glucose and the below are my glucose levels
Fasting: 97, After 1 hour 144, After 2 hours 129.
I have been monitoring my glucose levels ever since I was diagnosed with IGT but never seen more than 140 after 2 hours of meals.
I really confused whether I'm really pre-diabetic or diabetic. However, mentally I feel diabetic and taking a care as a T2 diabetic
