The above date is the last time I have been seen for a check up.Previously seen twice yearly. Contacted my surgery in february of this year and so far still no further forward. Been diagnosed for six years and puzzled as to what is going on.Has anyone else seen such extreme cuts in services? :?

i have a new nurse and when i saw her last she said see you in a years time when i seemed surprised she asked if i was used to 6monthly visits i said yes and she said no problem make an appointment when you wont one.

I just make my own appointments and ask for the blood test form for the hospital. I get 1 annual "official" call.

I get a letter every 6 months with a date for the diabetic nurse telling me to arrange a blood test about 2 weeks before the visit. As usual different surgeries have different practices despite the NICE guidelines. It's about time we got a standard of service across the country instead of a post code lottery. At least we'd know what to expect. :problem:

I would expect at the very least to get a check-up every 12 months, give them a ring Janey and hurry them up.

I am on diet and exercise only with a very good HbA1c so I only see the nurse yearly and really that's only to get all my blood results printed out as I am on a low carb diet and she knows that I disagree with her pundit of eating more carbs. I do however get a HbA1c test every 6 months.
