Recent changes in blood sugar readings

Hi, I am new to this forum but have been a type two diabetic for many years. (on Metformin, Glipizide, Lantus solostar and Victoza)
For the past 2-3 weeks my readings have been dramatically lower. My typical first thing in the morning reading used to be between 6.5 and 8.5 and is now between 3.8 and 6.0. My before bed reading used to be between 7.8 and 13.0 and is now between 4.9 and 8.0. I have been reducing my insulin and Victoza injections but my readings are still mush lower than usual.

Whilst I realise that my new glucose readings are much more favourable, I am concerned as to the reasons behind these recent changes. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you changed your lifestyle, diet, exercise or weight recently. Could you have had an infection that your body has now cleared up?

Have you lost a little weight? I know that my readings are directly related to what I eat and the portion size - the less I eat the lower my readings:happy:

I don't think I have lost any weight but I have had slightly smaller portions recently. It is just so rare for me to have these type of readings on a regular basis and such a significant drop from my usual readings.

I'm not a doctor but I would imagine lower bs could only be a good thing.:) If you are concerned though why don't you phone your DN or GP and ask for a phone call? At my surgery they are usually happy to ring you back about any genuine concern. Good luck
