recent high levels

Hi guys.
I've been type 1 diabetic since September 2011 and have been carb counting for the last 6 months.

Since I have been carb counting my control has been great. Mainly between 5-8 before meals.
However for the last 2 weeks my levels had had a dramatic jump to between 10-13 before meals, without me changing anything about my diet or lifestyle.

Just wondering if this is something I should be worried about, or if it is just a phase.

are you feeling under the weather for any reason? If you are fighting off an infection it could make your sugar rise.
Or, it could just be that you need more insulin now - lots of people find their requirements go up after the first six months to a year. Not a bad thing, just you need to find the new appropriate ratio/dose for your carbs.

Not unwell at all, i have quit smoking tho (well quitting using e-ciggarettes)

Coming out of the 'honeymoon' period has crossed my mind too. I have an appointment with my doctor at the end of the week, i think i will try and get an appointment made with the DSN soon after and see what they say.

Thanks for the reply
