Now we are passed Christmas, if I was in your position, I would gradually reduce carbs in your diet, if you lower them too fast you can end up with keto flu, basically your body objecting to the sudden drop. When I was first diagnosed I dropped to 100g per day, then edged downwards to under 45g/day. I also started testing my bloods sugars before and after meals to see how my body reacted to different meals. I was also prescribed Metformin.
I wouldn’t wait for the DN appt to get into a new routine, and just remember the DN may well be anti low carb and testing, you won’t get prescribed a meter and strips unless you are very lucky.
