Hey guys!!!

So straight to the point... Does anyone have any recipes for biscuits/cookies or anything treat wise??

I swear I spend like half my day scrolling through so called "Diabetic friendly" recipes for things like biscuits and the like...

Being Christmas and as such being a holiday revolving around good food and the like I find myself sitting with my family who are all stuffing their faces with quality street or iced cakes and all those lovely things that I would sacrifice my first born for...

"Before anyone asks, no they're not that cruel, they were even going to return the selection boxes of chocolate they bought my little cousins and other relatives so I wouldn't feel left out"

So naturally being only diagnosed with T1 Diabetes about a month ago it kills me a little when everyone has their treats and snacks while I ponder if those home made sausage rolls will send me sky high bloods wise...

So if anyone has any sort of recipe for things like biscuits and the like I would be forever in dept to you, I am determined not to give in and demolish a tin of quality street as much as it's driving me crazy... Hospital is the last place I want to be on Christmas...

And on that note...

Have a great Christmas everyone!!!!

There are peanut butter cookies which are yummy and bounty truffles if you want something chocolatey. Or chocolate mousse you could make for everyone, its really delicious

If you have a look at www.ditchthecarbs.com , she has loads of lovely things, including cookies and biscuits.

Hint for any further similar searches you may need to do in future - try using "Low carb ... recipes" as your search terms rather than for the more unfriendly "diabetic friendly" wording - you should get more useful results!

So true. I still cant understand why they think raisins and regular flour is diabetic friendly

@Cjburny I can recommend @ewelina's peanut butter cookies. They are really good, and were quite easy to make, even for someone like me who had never baked before. I just bought 3 jars of no added sugar and salt peanut butter to make another batch or two. The problem is not to eat them all in a day or two!

My personal favourite that seems to pop up on some of the things that were labeled "Diabetic Friendly" was Brown sugar... And melted mars bars
but thanks for the recipes, that peanut butter one is ironically something I used to make before I was diagnosed, naturally it was jam packed full of sugar and general heart stopping goodness but nice to see I can still have my peanut butter cookies just a tad tweaked

There are a number of threads on this forum (in the low carb section) that have the most amazing recipes in them - a lot more than just cookes and stuff.

Have a rootle. Well worth the time.
